Even if youâve never played it, youâve probably heard of Asheronâs Call. A pioneering MMORPG, itâs been around for over 15 years now. And while itâll still be around for a few more to come, ACâs developers have announced that theyâre ceasing work on the game.
I know, I know. Itâs probably news to you they were still working on it in the first place.
Turbine said in a statement last week that âplayers should have the expectation that updates will be limited to maintenance, bug fixes, and perhaps balance iterationsâ.
Now, this is normally the part where a studio starts talking about server closures, but to their credit Turbine say theyâll be keeping the game up and running. Theyâll even be working with the community throughout the year to teach folks how to run their own servers.
