Abandon All Hope, There Are No Plans For Geometry Wars 3

“Right now we don’t have any plans for Geometry Wars 3 or anything,” said Bizarre Creations’ Gareth Wilson during the Kotaku Talk Radio podcast, and all that could be heard afterwards were the relentless sobs of millions of disappointed fans.

Gareth took delivering the news in stride, but fans who played the original Geometry Wars and its sequel obsessively, myself included, felt as if a million voices all cried out at once, and then were silenced. Couldn’t they just – I don’t know – stop working on Blur and work on Geometry Wars 3 instead? I’m sure Activision wouldn’t mind.

There is one small bit of hope. Gareth continued, “That doesn’t mean that at some point (Geometry Wars designer) Stephen (Cakebread) won’t have a genius moment and will start working on it, but right now Stephen is working on all sorts of other projects.”

Other projects? What could possibly be more important? Is he curing cancer? Solving world hunger?
