Animal Crossing: New Horizons gives players thousands of items with which to decorate their homes, but they all paled in comparison to the glory of previous entriesâ beloved Froggy Chair. And now, Nintendo has finally seen fit to add it to the game.
During todayâs Animal Crossing-focused Direct presentation, squished between news about Brewsterâs return and island home-designing, eagle-eyed viewers spotted a very special piece of furniture known as the Froggy Chair. Well, okay, letâs be honest, Nintendo lingered on the shot for quite some time. The developers hit a home run and definitely wanted everyone to know about it.
Social media was immediately inundated with excited posts from Animal Crossing fans who have eagerly awaited the Froggy Chairâs return. The green seat, which has appeared in every previous game in the series, became something of a meme after it wasnât included in New Horizons. Some players even jokingly boycotted the game.
While most folks resorted to simple capslocked screaming, some were more thoughtful in their Froggy Chair celebrations.
âFroggy Chair is back in New Horizons,â wrote IntroSpecktive, who runs a Nintendo-focused YouTube channel. âAll is right in the world.â
âWait until all the new Animal Crossing players sit on the Froggy Chair for the first time,â read a cryptic series of tweets from pixel artist TAHK0. âEverybody remembers the first time they sat on a Froggy Chair.â
âItâs a Froggy Chair world,â added GameXplainâs Joey Ferris. âWeâre just living in it.â

The illustrious Froggy Chair also showed up in the announcement of Animal Crossing: New Horizonâs first paid DLC, Happy Home Paradise. Like most furniture, the Froggy Chair can be dyed different colors, though why you would want to cover up that beautiful green is beyond me.
All the new Animal Crossing: New Horizons stuff shown off today arrives on November 5, either in the final free update or as part of the paid Happy Home Paradise expansion. Check out Kotakuâs full roundup for all the details.
