Today my editor Cathy Layne passed the word that the arcade book I wrote, Arcade Mania, has gone into its second printing. I was rather flabbergasted as the bookâs been available outside Japan since December. And in this cratering economy? Itâs beyond flattering that people are spending their money on the book.
Hope it makes other publishers realize there is a market for game books from other writers. (More culture books, plze.)
Really want to thank Kotaku for supporting it (esp. you Crecente for writing the bookâs foreward!), everyone who has picked up a copy and everyone elsewhere whoâs been nice enough to write about it or write to me about it.
Also big thanks to Cathy and Andrew at Kodansha, Yuki the bookâs photographer and contributor and buddy Jean Snow.
Oh! And those who won the Arcade Mania contest? Youâll be getting signed first editions. Not sure if thatâs a good thing or not, but hey, there you go.
