Atari, after reviving (or attempting to revive) classic games like Warlords and Yarsâ Revenge, is turning its attention to 1980 arcade classic Centipede for its next project. This is Centipede: Infestation, a twin-stick-style shoot âem up for the Wii and Nintendo 3DS.

And in this Centipede, developed by Atari and WayForward Technologies, thereâs apparently a deeper story than just âShoot insects while trying to avoid death.â According to the release:
During Maxâs travels he encounters a young teen named Maisy who possesses a collection of seeds that hold the secret to bringing plant life back to the wasteland. Max and Maisy join forces to grow these gardens and protect the last natural resources on earth.
Youâll be able to save this centipede-infested world when Centipede: Infestation comes to the Wii and Nintendo 3DS this fall.
