When you look at how cinematic Nathan Drakeâs exploits are, itâs a bit weird to think that the same company thatâs turned out the realistic Uncharted mega-franchise also made the cartoony Jak & Daxter series. But Naughty Dog has in fact done both, and was considering a return to the buddy adventure franchise before they started in on the upcoming The Last of Us

Letâs go back and apply what weâve learned with the Uncharted games to Jak & Daxter.â Itâs one of the franchises thatâs near and dear to us and, in all honesty, weâd like to somehow honour.
However, Wells said that revisiting Jak & Daxter didnât get very far:
Even if we felt like we were going to give the fans another Jak & Daxter, we felt we werenât going to give them the game that they wanted. We would end up limiting the direction that the company had this passion for while simultaneously not creating the game that fans wanted. We just realised we were going to just do everybody a disservice.
At least the Dogs who are Naughty have the sense to get that a half-baked remake done in the name of nostalgia would make nobody happy. And if you want to sample some J&D nostalgia, the HD collection of the original games exists for exactly that purpose.
