Now, BioShock 2 could very well be pushed into calendar 2010, missing the holidays completely.
Officially, Take-Two blames the delay on the need to âprovide additional development time for the title.â
Strauss Zelnick, Chairman of Take-Two called the delay âthe right decision for the product,â but calls the impact on its revised financial outlook a âdisappointment.â
âThe decision to shift a release date is never an easy one, especially with a product as highly anticipated as BioShock 2,â Take-Two CEO Ben Feder said in a financial release. âWe felt that it was essential to invest the additional time to ensure that this title will deliver what its fans expect and deserve.â
Take-Two announced delays of Red Dead Redemption and Mafia II in May, both of which are expected to ship in the publisherâs fiscal 2010.
