Continuing their welcome tradition of showing us games they never actually made, Irrational has this week lifted the veil on Monster Island, a title the BioShock developers never finished (though we wish they had).
First conceived at the beginning of the decade, Monster Island is described by Irrational as an âaction/strategy console gameâ that took place on an island for, well, monsters. Based on Japanese giant monster movies, its pitch was that you could either control the forces sent to stop a monster or the monster itself.
The catch was that it wasnât just set in 1950s Japan, as youâd also be playing in ancient Greece and medieval Europe.
The game of course never went anywhere, but thinking about Irrational vs King Ghidorah has me feeling like itâs something that should have.
