The site MMAjunkie reports that mixed martial arts promoter Strikeforce has booked the Nokia Theatre for an event June 16, across the street from the L.A. Convention Center and smack dab in the middle of the E3 Expo.
Strikeforce is the licensing partner of EA Sports MMA, due out in the fall; all the fighters on the June 16 card except one are playable within that game, MMAjunkie reports. The bouts will likely be carried on Showtime, which is Strikeforceās usual premium TV partner.
Although EA Sportsā involvement in the bout itself isnāt confirmed, it and Strikeforce have cross-promoted a fight night before, but it didnāt go so well. EA Sports planned to live-stream a fight on the undercard of late January event but ran into technical difficulties.
