Proving once again that game review scores donāt matter to movie producers, a movie version of 8monkey Labsā time travel shooter Darkest of Days is being shopped around, with the writers of The Rock attached to craft the screenplay.
With a Game Rankings index of 47.80%, Darkest of Days didnāt exactly set the video game world on fire, so news that Douglas Cook and David Weisberg, the writers behind Sean Connery vehicle The Rock, are working on a screenplay for a movie adaptation comes as a bit of a surprise. According to an article on /Film, Alice in Wonderlandās Joe Roth will be producing the film, and CAA is shopping the project around to various Hollywood studios.
It seems odd, but the more I think about it, it could work. Story was the best thing Darkest of Days had going for it, and who doesnāt want to see a movie about one of Custerās soldiers recruited from the past to travel through time, uncovering a sinister plot of sorts?
