Sword of Legends Online

Another MMORPG bites the dust. Developer Wangyuan Shengtang’s Sword of Legends Online was pulled from digital storefronts on June 1, with the servers getting turned off on June 30. The studio said the “MMO market is fiercely competitive,” which made it difficult for Wangyuan Shengtang to maintain a strong enough playerbase to sustain the game’s development. As such, after “several months of discussions” with publisher Gameforge, the two agreed that cutting their losses was best, though the genre-dedicated news site MMORPG states that Sword of Legends Online remains playable in China.
