At CinemaCon today, Disney revealed plans to release new Star Wars films each summer beginning in 2015. The plan isnât to go Episode VII, VIII, IX in three years but, rather, to run spinoff films in-between the major âepisode releasesâ every two or three years.
This is consistent with earlier reports of plans for spinoff movies, plus reports that the next trilogy will pick up after 1983âsReturn of the Jedi. Disneyâs announcement meshes the two together rather definitively.
