Following EAâs pull of Battlefield 3: Aftershock from the App store two weeks ago, EA recently revealed that The Simpsons: Tapped Out is getting the same treatment.

Pocket Gamer reports that an anonymous gamer posted on EAâs help forum to inquire about the game, but was met with a disappointing response from a representative:
To ensure current players have the best possible experience, weâve temporarily removed The Simpsons: Tapped Out from the App Store to limit the gameâs server capacity to its current players and address connectivity and lag time issues.
EA pulled The Simpsons: Tapped Out because of its overwhelming popularity, which seems to be overloading their servers.
Fortunately for those who already own the game, EA predicts that their sessions will run more smoothly. âIf youâve downloaded the game, you can continue to play,â EA explains in the forum. âActually, your experience should only improve as we work on a solution.â
And for those looking to pick up the game after all this excitement, The Simpsons: Tapped Out should return after theyâve figured out how to handle the apparently unexpected amount of players:
As soon as we have resolved these issues to handle greater player capacity, we will return The Simpsons: Tapped Out to the App Store so that even more people can enjoy this âlife-ruiningly funâ game. Meanwhile, thanks to everyone for their patience, and we will provide an update as soon as we have more information to share.
Updates are being posted on their official Facebook page
