Boston-based hockey fans will be wicked psyched to learn that their own Boston Bruins will win this yearâs Stanley Cup, according to EA Sportsâ simulation of the 2009 NHL playoffs.
Electronic Arts has run the numbers in NHL 09, calling the Bruins to win the cup in six games, defeating the Chicago Blackhawks for their first Stanley Cup win in 37 years. Following the win, Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara will be presented with the Stanley Cup by an unidentified, vacant automaton while staring blankly into space, as hammered college students overturn cars in Kenmore Square. Should be a wicked pissa.
For Bostonâs sake, we hope that NHL 09âs prediction is more accurate than that of NHL 08âs which was way off. It called for the San Jose Sharks to win the Cup, a team that didnât make it past the Western Conference semifinals.
