Final Fantasy XIII Dated For Winter 2009 In Japan [Update]

When Dragon Quest IX was delayed, Square Enix president Yoichi Wada stated that it could have an effect on the release date for Final Fantasy XIII.

“One way or another,” Wada said at the time, “I want to get [Final Fantasy XIII] out during 2009.” Looks like he’s got his wish.

On April 16th, Blu-ray movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete goes on sale in Japan, complete with a playable Final Fantasy XIII demo.

After the hour long demo, there is apparently the following message:

Keep in mind: This is still unconfirmed and should be considered rumor until we get confirmation from Square Enix.

Update: When contacted about this, Square Enix replied: “Please wait until April 16th for official information.”
