A man in Salt Lake was assaulted and robbed earlier this week while he was playing a âcomputer game onlineâ. Like, literally: his friends could hear over the mic that he was being beaten up, so they rushed to help.
The unnamed victim was playing games online (the report doesnât specify which platform) when a group of masked men burst into his house, beat him with a bat, took some âelectronic itemsâ then fled the scene in his car.
Sounds like the perfect crime, but when one of the victimâs friends heard the commotion over the mic, he raced to the scene of the crime just in time to see the perpetrators making their escape. As they were leaving, one of them took off his mask and was instantly recognised as an acquaintance.
They havenât been caught yet, but with one of their identities now known to police, youâd have to assume itâs only a matter of time before they show up.
