Dead Island 2
You could be forgiven for thinking that Dead Island 2, a zombie slasher originally revealed back at E3 2014, was canceled long ago. Not so. Deep Silver announced at this year’s Gamescom that it would finally be coming out in the back half of 2022 after years of delays, swapping developers, and prolonged radio silence. Then it was delayed again. “The irony of delaying Dead Island 2 is not lost on us, and we are as disappointed as you undoubtedly are,” the publisher wrote last month. Notably, the decision came shortly after the news that Saints Row had sold poorly due to its busted state at launch.
Reason for delay: “make sure we can launch a game we’re proud to launch”
New release date: April 28th 2023
