About Subway Surfers

Subway Surfer is an endless runner in which you control a character that is running on railroad tracks, avoiding trains, obstacles, and tunnels. The essence of its gameplay is simple: run as long as possible, avoid obstacles, collect coins and power-ups, and evade the guard and his dog. It begins slowly, then quickly resembles a high-speed reflex game that requires no notice, as control is primarily swiped. The world transforms quite often due to its World Tour format, wherein you will get a new city theme every few weeks.

One month you can be graffiti travelling in New York trains, and the next you are in Tokyo or Rio or any other place that has different graffiti colors and backgrounds. The game mechanics remain the same, with the change of environment making the game refreshing. You open boards, get characters, enhance multipliers, and repeat runs to win scores. The game is not bulky, does not involve much seriousness, and can be played on nearly any device. New mobile gamers can typically pick it up and learn it in a few seconds.

Why Should I Play Subway Surfers?

There are numerous reasons as to why people play Subway Surfer. Some prefer a fast game before going to school, and others merely want to score daily. It does not drag you into complex processes and extensive meetings. You can run 30 seconds when you are in line, or spend half an hour and have the speed prove your reflexes.

The swipe controls are natural, and thus, you do not have to think much when playing. The character runs on the screen, and you just have to drag your finger to move it from left to right or tap to jump to avoid obstacles, and never let the security man catch you.

The other reason why players remain with it is the constant updates. New cities, boards, costumes, tokens, and little challenges are part of the World Tour and make each month a little different. In case you like to gather stuff, characters, outfits, hoverboards, etc., you will have a lot to pursue. The game is easy but not too slow to allow younger players to play, yet competitive enough to allow adults to enjoy playing it.

The runs are also rewarding with bright graphics, smooth animations, and rhythmic flow, even when you fail to score high. It does not have tutorials or complicated menus, and thus, it is a perfect fit for anyone who prefers to dive into it. You will like to beat the score of your friends. That is yet another reason to come back. You can play Subway Surfers any time, whether you are new or experienced, because it is easy to access, predictable, and lightweight.

Is Subway Surfers Free-to-play?

Yes. Subway Surfer is downloadable on nearly all the major mobile platforms for free. You can purchase optional goods such as characters, boards, tokens, or packages, but you can also play without spending money. Ads can be displayed here and there; however, you can play the game and earn things without paying.

Where Can I Download Subway Surfers?

Get Subway Surfer in the official application market of your phone. For Android, it is located at the Google Play Store; for iOS, you can download it on the Apple App Store (our links are direct). It has an official website to learn about event updates, trailers, and city information on the World Tour. It is easy to install and does not need any other settings or extra accounts.

The game does not require a lot of storage, and hence it can be used in older phones with low storage. The gameplay and controls are identical, whether you are playing it on a tablet or a phone. It also supports HD graphics but downsizes gracefully to less powerful devices, and thus, you do not require a high-end device. It only takes a few seconds to download, install, and make your first run.

What Games Should I Play If I Enjoy Subway Surfers?

Minion Rush is based on the universe of the Despicable Me movie and is a character-related endless runner. Here, you do not ride trains and tunnels; you run in laboratories, cities, and dumb-themed zones full of minions. It has similar lanes, obstacles, coins, and power-ups to Subway Surfers and calls for missions, costumes, and story-like missions. It is more structured since there are goals to achieve and areas to unlock, and it is family-friendly because of its humorous content and light visuals. It is suitable to use during short sessions as well. If you enjoy light-hearted runners, you can always download it quickly and jump into a fun session anytime.

Sonic Dash takes the endless running genre to the next level, which is in line with the Sonic theme. It is a 3D journey where you race through loops, trees, seaside, and mechanical worlds, avoiding badniks and challenges. The game is quicker and more fluid, and it is based on the world of Sonic with rings, bosses, and unlockable characters. Unlike the side-step lanes of Subway Surfers, Sonic Dash is more of a forward-running race with more momentum and a somewhat different beat. Sonic Dash is a good game if you like fast reflexes and high energy. It’s easy to download and try out if you want a faster, more energetic endless runner style.

Temple Run 2 is based on the established endless runner formula, which had been the case with Subway Surfers. Here you flee from a giant monster in ancient ruins, cliffs, mines, forests, and hazardous trails. Swipes and tilt controls make the motion more physical and the runs more adventurous with curves, slopes, zip lines, and abrupt turns. It is a dramatic escape rather than a nonchalant urban environment. In case you enjoy a game that combines both risk and exploration without the flashy graphics and characters, you can find a bit more intense experience in Temple Run 2, but it preserves the same endless loop. If escape-style runners appeal to you, this one is easy to download and start exploring right away.
