About Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is a remastered collection of the two single-player games by Naughty Dog, which are Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Both games are based on treasure seekers who act more like aimless problem-solvers than traditional heroes.

Instead of remaining in a single location or following a single plot, the collection transports you to different continents, jungles, old temples, dusty cities, and cliffside villages. It switches between peaceful exploration and high-stakes gunfights and puzzles without necessarily wasting time in between.

The fact that the two stories have different names as the main characters, Nathan Drake in one of the stories and Chloe Frazer in the other, makes the bundle look more like two characters in the same reality. One of the characters is a thief who is dragged back into a life he attempted to escape; the other one is a person who never left the same life completely but wants to have a future in which he is not associated with running away because of his previous errors. The experience does not need much awareness of the wider franchise; hence, new entrants are not challenged.

Why Should I Play Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection?

Many players will be happy to play this collection, not only because of the fighting or storyline. The rhythm is also one of the main attractions: you ascend, play a small puzzle, fall into a gunfight, and then take a moment to admire a movie-like landscape. The movement is more fluid than in previous Uncharted games, and the introduction of a grapple hook makes even the most basic of transitions dynamic. The general impression is that of an adventure game in which you are driving through thin ledges and falling down buildings.

The other one is the emotional theme. The two stories have characters who are stuck between their past and their present roles. It is the kind of tension that follows you throughout the change of ruins to caves in the background. These games strike a chord with all who enjoy adventures without having to solve a puzzle at every step, but nonetheless, having the feeling that they are searching for something unknown, something ancient, and something dangerous.

Is Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection Free-to-play?

No. The collection is not free-to-play. It has to be bought on PlayStation or PC. Discounts or subscription packages are possible occasionally, but the core game has to be purchased. No extra gameplay-related microtransactions, so after you purchase it, you receive the entire experience without any extra add-on purchases.

Where Can I Download Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection?

The PlayStation Store has the game available for PS5. Users who purchased the initial PS4 versions will be able to upgrade at a lower price, but they will still have to insert the disc every time they play the remastered version. On a personal computer, the game can be accessed via Steam and can be played as most PC games, with its achievements, support of controllers, and graphical options.

However, the only special equipment that will be needed is a store account. Its size is large, and this means that the downloading time may take different times depending on your connection. The game is a single-player game, and hence, you do not have to be online all the time once it is installed. Players who are interested in portability or replayability tend to like Steam due to its display flexibility, ultrawide display, and control remapping. PS5 owners also enjoy shorter load times and the DualSense haptic, and so it is a matter of preference between prioritizing technical comfort or console-specific immersion.

What Games Should I Play If I Enjoy Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection?

Rise of the Tomb Raider is written in a similar vein of exploring abandoned ruins and discovering concealed secrets, only that it is written quite quietly and in a survival-oriented tone. It does not include the buddy banter that exists in Uncharted, which keeps you focused on one protagonist in harsh settings and ancient mysteries. The density of the puzzle is increased, and more focus is given to the crafting and preparation before entering tombs. Both titles provide action cinema-like experiences, but Tomb Raider is more methodical, where the players do not need to rush through the shootouts but rather be able to take their time and explore some space. In case you enjoyed the climbing, the ancient architecture, and the excitement of pursuing a myth, Tomb Raider provides a similar emotional experience and does not imitate the comedy of Uncharted. You can always download it later if you feel like diving into a more grounded and careful style of exploration.

Star Wars Outlaws provides an open-world game but is equally entertaining as Uncharted, with roguish heroes, alliances, and treasure motives. They go on to visit criminal enclaves, backwater worlds, and scummy ports, picking up work and being drawn into a survival and debt narrative. The shooting and movement are not similar to those of Uncharted, but the feeling of being dragged into the mess by one wrong step is present. It is less linear in its exploration, more spaced out, and it evolves the way you move. Should you have liked the idea of the globe-trotting of Uncharted, but needed a bigger size, Outlaws offers it, without a significant decrease in the share of personal interests. If the larger worlds appeal to you, you can download this one whenever you're ready to roam freely.

Although Hogwarts Legacy seems to have nothing in common, it can be of interest to players who like puzzles that require hidden entrances, reading the environment, and well-developed areas with a specific character. It is freer and more enchanted, with fewer cinematic scenes, but the exploratory feel of Uncharted, with its quieter times of roaming through ruins, opening doors, and finding hints, is present. The battles are more magical and less physical, but the general impression of maneuvering through a world full of fantasy and ancient legends is Uncharted-esque. Those who liked that Uncharted discovery followed at a more leisurely pace by exploring a world will be surprised to find that Hogwarts Legacy is right up next to it. They would like to learn the world through wandering instead of looking for markers. It’s the kind of world you may want to download just to explore at your speed.
