You may hate its multiplayer modes. You may abhor the fact itâs characters are so testosterone-fuelled they border on self parody. That doesnât matter. The Gears of War series has sold nine million copies.
Speaking with GameDaily, Microsoftâs Guy Welch has revealed that since Gears of War 2 was released in November, itâs sold four million copies worldwide. That means itâs selling at a much faster rate than its predecessor, which as of today has sold five million copies worldwide.
Thatâs nine million copies sold all-up. Not bad for a series that, when it comes to sci-fi shooters, is Microsoftâs second string.
