The story propelling Lucasartâs Force Unleashed is one of apprenticeship, Imperial cleavage, good and evil. It could have been about a Wookiee superhero, which would have been awesome, but no, George Lucas nixed that idea.
In the latest issue of GamePro, developers Haden Blackman and Julio Torres remember the heady days of 2005, when the team was coming up with ideas on where/when to set Force Unleashed.
âAt one point we were kicking around an idea where you were playing a Wookiee,â says Blackman. âIt was going to be a big open world, and youâd be running around, and youâd be able to grab the heads of AT-STs and throw them at stormtroopers. It was a very over the top-style superhero game.â
But no. Blackman says Lucas himself turned that idea down, insisting that the game âneeded to focus on character interaction and dialogâ. Right, the two things Star Wars does worst. Way to go, George.
