Punk rock trio Green Day is bringing its catalog of music to MTV Games and Harmonixâs Rock Band, confirming the news dropped by the band itself earlier this week.

While details about just how much of the bandâs back catalog are still to be revealed, the partnership will kick off on July 7th with three downloadable tracks from the bands new album are made available for Rock Band and Rock Band 2. The three tracks from 21st Century Breakdown include â21 Guns,â âKnow Your Enemy,â and âEast Jesus Nowhere.â
While maybe not âa whole Green Day Rock Bandâ as singer/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong hinted at during a radio interview this week, MTV Games notes that âadditional Green Day songs and projects will be announced at a later date.â
Any requests? Besides the obvious option of being able to play âLongviewâ in LEGO Rock Band, that is.
