Welcome to the second week of the Kotaku Game Clubās series on The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. This week, weāre talking about the events from where we left off last week, the end of the Earth Shrine up through the Ancient Cistern dungeon.
Hopefully the people whoāve been trying catch up because of our tight schedule are up to speed. Regardless of how far youāve progressed in the game, please try not to discuss anything that happens after the Ancient Cistern. (Thatās the water temple where you get the whip.) If you havenāt played that far yet and are concerned about spoilers, you should know that this discussion will be full of spoilers for the half of the game.
If you havenāt joined us before, the Kotaku Game Club plays one video game each month. We meet weekly to discuss our thoughts on the game as a group. In the past Iāve tried to emphasize the idea that youāll get more out of Game Club by keeping pace with our discussions, but since Skyward Sword is longer than any game weāve played so far, itās definitely more important that we all just play the game.
Here is this weekās jump-off question: Do you think the greater world of Skyward Sword is too small?
Compared to some of this yearās massive open-world games, Skyward Sword seems to have a relatively compact world, and weāve already been asked to revisit a few spots. (If only for a short time on the return trip.) Do you think this trend will continue? More importantly, do you think itās a problem or is it just efficient use of the gameās levels?
At next weekās meeting of the Kotaku Game Club weāll discuss the third quarter of the The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Weāll be discussing everything up to the Fire Sanctuary. Make sure to meet us back here at Kotaku next Thursday, December 22nd, at 4pm Eastern.
