Itâs Comic-Con, so allow me to indulge in some toy coverage. Well, not that this is a toy. Itâs more like a full-size replica of the alien assault rifle from District 9.
Sculpted by special effects house WETA, the team behind Lord of the Rings and, uh, District 9, the rifle made its public debut at Comic-Con earlier tonight. And itâs amazing.
Itâs made from glass fibre and plastic tubing, weighs 12 pounds and is 40 inches long. Accoridng to WETA, itâs an âEXACTâ replica of the weapons used in the film, with the toys modelled on the âactual propsâ.
Of course, itâs not cheap. At $499, itâs not cheap at all
