Today during Geoff Keighleyâs Summer Game Fest, a different Jeffâone of the Goldblum varietyâannounced Jurassic World Evolution 2
Jeff introduced the new game to Geoff, saying that it will âelevate you to new heights, submerge you to new depths, and maybe even challenge you to control chaos.â He also said âworld premiereâ in a very hammy, Jeff Goldblum sort of way.
The trailer featured Goldblum, with the beloved actor saying that we âplayed with genetics like it was a toyâ while dinosaurs soared and strutted around a forested locale. At the end, there was a shot of an undersea dinosaur, something that was not present in the original Jurassic World Evolution. Before coming to a close, the trailer noted that Evolution 2 will be out in 2021, which despite feeling like a seamless continuation of 2020, is in fact this year.
The gameâs Steam page includes more details, noting that this one will contain an original story âset after the Earth-shattering events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,â which will see you work alongside Goldblumâs character, among others. There will also be new options that will allow you to âconstruct and customize new buildings and flex your managerial muscle across never-before-seen locations ranging from dense forests to rocky deserts.â Meanwhile, Goldblum actually hinted at the coolest-sounding feature: Chaos Theory, a mode that lets you live out what-if scenarios from Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies.
The first Jurassic World Evolution came out in 2018. At the time, we called it a âclumsy but fun park builder.â As youâd expect, it let you build your own dinosaur theme park, and it seems like Jurassic World Evolution 2 will as wellâbut bigger, better, and more. One of the main appeals of dinosaurs is that theyâre big, so how can making them bigger go wrong? I mean aside from everything that happens in the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies.
