Katamari Damacy designer Keita Takahashi wasnât happy at Namco Bandai. When leaving the company, he called it âso-soâ. His reasons are a bit more melancholy than that.

âThe reason why I quit Namco was because I started to feel like I didnât belong there any more,â Takahashi recently told website Eurogamer. Takahashiâs games, he noted, âwere not the best-selling onesâ, and he also realized that âNamco was, as a business, going down a bitâ.
Couple that with the fact his colleagues were moving on to other projects, and you have a guy that doesnât feel like he belongs anymore.
His new company, uvula, is a start-up with his wife and should counter any pangs of alienation Japanese corporate culture causes.
