Star Wars Kid, one of the internetâs earliest celebrities, had to do his lightsaber combat the hard way. Now, with Kinect and a computer, anyone can look like the worldâs biggest Star Wars nerd.
Using a hacked Kinect, Yankeyan has rigged up this basic tool that can track a user wielding a wooden stick and, on the screen, turn that stick into a light saber.
Thereâs quite a bit of lag, as there is with a lot of Kinect stuff, but if all you want to do is record yourself ala Star Wars Kid â and not try and actually play a Star Wars game on Kinect â this is fine!
