After three mercilessly long years, the Kingdom Hearts series is coming to the PC launcher people actually like to use. Through three bundles, most (but not all) of Square Enixâs Disney and Final Fantasy crossover will be available on Steam in June.
Square Enix has announced that Kingdom Heartsâ exclusivity deal with the Epic Games Store will end on June 13. Three bundles that encompass most of the seriesâ games will be made available. The bundles, and the games they include, are as follows:
Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX
Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (cinematics)
Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix
Kingdom Hearts Re:coded (cinematics)
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue
Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD
Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage-
Kingdom Hearts Ï Back Cover
Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind DLC
Kingdom Hearts III
Re Mind DLC set after the events of the full game
You can get all of the above in the Integrum Masterpiece bundle that packages all those games together, but Square Enix has yet to announce pricing. The same bundle on the Switch runs $89.99
Notably, this doesnât include every game in Kingdom Heartsâ long history. Kingdom Hearts Ï, a mobile game set before the events of all these games obviously isnât part of it, and the rhythm game Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory, the most recent game in the series, is now the only PC Kingdom Hearts game thatâs still only playable on the Epic Games Store.
A nice perk of this is that, if you have a Steam Deck, this is probably the best way to play the series on handheld. The Switch versions use cloud streaming instead of letting you install the games natively, which means you have to have a persistent internet connection to play them. That wonât be the case with the Steam Deck.
If youâve never played Kingdom Hearts before, youâve got plenty of time to catch up before Kingdom Hearts IV, which seems to be expanding the rules of its crossover world even further when it comes out on an undetermined date and platform.
