Kotaku Shop Contest: Kinect Goes to China Winners

The inevitable counterfeiting, bootlegging and knock-offing of Kinect in certain Far East markets was the inspiration for last week’s contest, and many enterprising ‘shoppers joined the cause to create glorious images for the benefit of all. Let’s take a look.

For some reason, the less I could tell what was going on with a box, the funnier it was. That’s why Laodicea-Dude is in here. And boopadoo, who made something like 14 submissions. Ditto for Mr. S., whose simple assurance “FUN GAME” is pitch-perfect.

HM-Murdock made a toy after my own heart. Jimmy_Jazz couldn’t submit just one, either; I picked Jazz’s waffle iron for sheer WTFery; plus I like Mrs. Butterworths.

And of course there were the comments on China itself; jungletoad’s was brutally hilarious (and vice versa); resvrgam shows up largely because of the badass “Requires bribery” sticker. And strikephoenix’s Maoimals was the best of the cover-art bunch.

But this week’s winner is billysan, with the best imagining of the most likely packaging for Kinect knockoffs – the poly bag with a cardboard tab. Congratulations to billysan and all who made the roundup. FUN GAME.
