More controlerifous than LittleBigPlanet 2’s ‘Creatinator,’ with smoother handling than its ‘Grabinator,’ Sackboy’s newest tool—the ‘Controlinator’—makes piloting and steering anything in the PlayStation 3 sequel so much simpler.

We doubt you’ll miss the roundabout ways you used to make things controllable in the original LittleBigPlanet after experiencing the wonders of the Controlinator, which as this new LBP2 trailer shows makes driving a caterpillar a breeze. Creating new game types in LittleBigPlanet 2 looks so painless this time, even I might try to recreate a Super Mario Bros. level or two.

LittleBigPlanet 2 is coming to the PS3 on January 18, 2011.
