Recently on Japanese television, the first images of the movie version of Jiji, the black cat, were shown.

If you have never seen the classic Studio Ghibli movie that’s based on the book Kiki’s Delivery Service, here is what the anime Jijilooks like:

Studio Ghibli is not involved with the live-action Japanese feature film.

Of course the cat has to be CG—they can’t have a real cat flying around on a broomstick with Kiki, can they? Well, maybe they can! Or they could do a mix of CG cat and real cat. Or maybe they could have done a totally different movie altogether. The possibilities are endless, really.
