Madden Effect: The Winners

A shipping screwup last week sent Madden to Mass Effect 3 customers. We asked you to imagine a mashup of both games, and everyone came through in the clutch against a pretty tough concept. This week sees our first ever roundup with two artists getting two finalist berths apiece, but they didn’t win out overall. That honor goes to billysan!

DinosaurDrugs (6) gets the Ben Roethlisberger reference out of the way. If you don’t know him, the Steelers quarterback spent four games on the bench in 2010 due to Renegade behavior.

Attorney at Music (1) gives us a classic locker-room drama. DarrenODaly’s biotic (5) looks like a kid having fun throwing it around out there.

jersalv1 (7) dispenses wisdom. So does Kobun, in his first entry (9). Yes, he knows he’s going to hell for his second entry (10). So am I for laughing about it. (That’s Steve McNair if you don’t follow football.)

pan1da7 got in two finalists, too. In one (13), Michael Vick has a new pet; his second gives us Varsity Blues in space (17). The quarian’s cowboy hat is especially brilliant.

bobthebaptist (3) is Mass Effect‘s ratings czar. I think Wrex’s trucking is a little low and yes, I realize it is 100. mbramire (10), I just … no … that’s. No.

I’m not a big fan of text-heavy entries but toolsoldier (19) gets on board with that outstanding callback to the fight stick contest.

As for overall winners, TuxedoFox (20) was the clubhouse leader, until I saw billysan (2) mining Planet Madden for comedy gold. Well done.
