Seven NFL teamsâ fight songs are included for the first time this year in the Madden NFL soundtrack â unfortunately (from my perspective) the best one is MIA. Probably because they didnât want the thing sounding like a porn movie.
That would be âSuper Chargersâ â not exactly marching band stuff as you can hear here. But from âHail to the Redskinsâ to âFly Eagles Flyâ to âSkol Vikings,â thereâs definitely a blood-pumping, finger-pointing, fight-starting, bail-posting ethic to this yearâs music.
The rest of the soundtrack is meant to reflect the songs youâd expect to hear on gameday at the stadium itself â hence âWe Readyâ and âThunderstruckâ and âWelcome to the Jungle.â
Interestingly, thereâs a cover version of âRock and Roll Part 2.â The original performer, Gary Glitter, of course was convicted and imprisoned on child porn charges in Britain in the 1990s, and the NFL sought to distance itself from the artist after that though the song has been an unofficial crowd anthem, in many North American sports, for years. The NFL allows a cover version by the Tube Tops 2000 to be played at league venues.
