Mario & Luigi Knock Out Ken & Ryu In Japanese Sales

The newest entry in the Mario & Luigi RPG series, excitedly titled Mario & Luigi RPG3!!!, beat out Capcom’s Street Fighter IV by an impressive margin, with the DS title securing this week’s top spot.

Of course, some may contend that Street Fighter IV sales would have benefited from more readily available stock, but that’s neither here nor there, as far as Media Create is concerned. The week’s top ten is made up mostly of new debuts, with Mobile Suit Gundam: Giren no Yabou – Axis no Kyoui V for the PlayStation 2 and PSP helping the PlayStation family secure seven of the top ten slots.

That includes Demon’s Souls which debuted strongly last week, retaining a good portion of its weekly sales. The full list, with new titles in bold, is after this.
