Microsoft has denied rumors that they intend to release an Xbox One bundle without Kinect, telling Kotaku they have âno plansâ to do so.
Yesterday, the website Inside Gaming Daily reported that Microsoft plans to release a Kinect-free Xbox One bundle next summer, citing âan anonymous source familiar with the matter.â
Inside Gaming Daily writes: âThis contradicts Microsoftâs repeated implication that the Xbox One wonât function without a Kinect attached, but itâs sounding more and more like thatâs a bit of PR smoke just to get the Kinect in peopleâs homes.â
But Microsoft says thatâs not true.
âWe have no plans to introduce an Xbox One without Kinect,â a spokesperson said this afternoon. âWe believe in Kinect and the value it brings to both games and entertainment, and believe $499 is a great value for what consumers receive with their Xbox One.â
