Forget the boring humans of Fallout 4. Thanks to the Be The Dog mod (via VG247), you can now take to the wasteland as man’s best friend. Obviously, Fallout 4 was never meant to be played this way, which means the mod gets weird quick. Everyone just goes around talking, befriending, or shooting at this dog like its nothing. That’s what makes it so funny.
There are some limitations. You can only wear dog gear, for one (which is fine, really, considering how cute it is.) And you can’t use a gun. Instead, you have an assortment of bite attacks at your disposal. That said, you do have a selection of dogs to choose from, it’s not just Dogmeat. Wanna play as a feral dog, or a different kind of cute pup? Totally possible. Actually, you can still recruit Dogmeat even if you choose to play as Dogmeat, hilariously enough:
