Viacom today said they plan to sell the company behind Rock Band, Kinectâs Dance Central and the original Guitar Hero.
The mammoth company didnât explain why they want to sell off Harmonix, but itâs likely tied to not just the slow down in gaming sales, but also what seems to be a distinct drop off in interest in the instruments-required rhythm games.
No word on who might be picking Boston-based Harmonix up, but since the developer has an on-going publishing deal with Electronic Arts, the second largest game maker in the world, that seems like a distinct possibility.
