New Pokemon Trademarks Could Be Anything, Sound Like Fighting Games

So here’s the official word from The Pokemon Company on that mysterious Pokemon image that seemed to tease a Wii U game: “There is nothing to announce at this time. These are merely conceptual images.” Okay. So what are these new trademarks that Siliconera has unearthed, Pokkén Fighters and Pokkén Tournament?

Could be anything. We’ve asked The Pokemon Company and are awaiting comment, but right now, “Fighters,” obviously, sounds like a fighting game. Might not be that at all, of course! It just seems curious that we’d see an image that seems to tease a game—an image in which two fighting Pokemon are about to brawl, and there’s a the fighting type symbol on the top right corner—and then have these trademarks by The Pokemon Company pop up.
