High Hell is by no means the longest game ever, but it can be really, really short if you want it to be.
While the stylish first-person shooter should take most people a couple hours to beat, thereās an achievement for sprinting through it in 20 minutes. Thereās also one for beating a level in five seconds. Basically, if youāre a speedrunner, this game is rolling out the red carpet for you.
Itās an interesting approach to take on Steam, a platform notorious for hosting hordes of players who refuse to cough up more than 99 cents for games that wonāt last them until the end of The Age Of Man. So far, though, reviews indicate that people are mostly receptive to the idea, even though the game costs $9.99. Short, focused games rule, so this is a good thing.
The game has a number of amusing achievements, like one whose description reads ābeat Professor Meth without killing any chimpsā and another thatās simply titled āBURN EVERYTHING.ā At its core, though, High Hell is a first-person shooter about scalpel-like precision and the-amount-of-time-it-takes-me-to-start-crying-any-time-I-see-a-scalpel-like speed. You kick down a door and demolish everybody in a flash, or go out in an inglorious blaze yourself. Iāve only played for about 30 minutes (no achievement for me), but I like it a lot so far.
