Martin Hollis, who while with Rare was one of the men behind the original GoldenEye on the Nintendo 64, has some kind words to say about Activision, the publisher pushing the remake.
Oh, sorry, did I say kind?
âI imagine it is a business decision isnât it?â, HOllis told Official Nintendo Magazine. âThis name is valuable, letâs use it. I find it hard to picture Activisionâs top management being excited about the original and wanting to do it justice. In fact, I find it hard to imagine them being excited about any game. Itâs my perception that they are trying to be EA, only more so. I think they are doing a fine job at that.â
Before you think heâs saddled with a load of sour grapes, Hollis does have kinder words to say about Eurocom, the actual developers working on the game, saying âthey are a good companyâ and that âIâm confident they have done their very bestâ.
