So, to try and stem the worst of the bleeding from this ā€œeconomic crisisā€, the Australian government gave everybody in the country who paid tax last year AUD$900 (USD$630). The thinking being, if everybody goes out and spends $900 on stuff, then itā€™ll help prop up the economy.

Whatā€™d I get? I did my duty and bought a 50ā€³ Pioneer Kuro plasma TV (cost more than $900, obviously, but the free money certainly helped). Which, it turns out, is too big for my parentā€™s living room (who Iā€™m living with while my new house is being built), leaving me with a new TV thatā€¦is going to sit in its box for months.

Kinda wish now that Iā€™d bought something that I could use, you know?
