After some conjecture earlier this week surrounding the re-release of some older PS2 Star Wars games, Sony has come out and confirmed that PS2 games are coming to the PS4 courtesy of emulation.
âWe are working on utilizing PS2 emulation technology to bring PS2 games forward to the current generation,â Sony told Wired. âWe have nothing further to comment at this point in time.â
Not very communicative, but then, thatâs par for the course with Sony and PS2 games on the PS4

While Sony doesnât have anything further to say officially, Digital Foundry has taken a look at the Star Wars games (which are already available) in questionâcollected in a bundle that includes PS2 titles Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter, Star Wars: Racer Revenge and Star Wars: Bounty Hunterâand put the emulation through its paces.
