If you’re still managing your Nintendo Switch storage by deleting some titles to make room for new ones, this Prime Day is a great time to switch things up. Those using Switch regularly should consider upgrading to a high-capacity microSD card, especially now that a solid option is going for a lot less.
Right now, Amazon has the SanDisk 512GB Pokémon Gengar microSDXC Card for $59, which is $31 off its regular price. It’s already quite affordable at the retail price of $71 (considering all the value it packs), but this offer puts it in your pocket for less than $50.
No Compromise on the Performance
This SD card is officially licensed for Nintendo Switch, and works well with the Switch, OLED, and Lite models. All cards are specifically designed, tested, and approved to be used with Nintendo Switch systems, so compatibility won’t be a problem now, or even down the line (not compatible with Switch 2). As the name suggests, each card features Gengar – a dark purple, bipedal Pokémon – label, so it’s not one of those boring, basic options with no personality.
The 512GB space is sufficient for holding a wide range of games, plus some extra content like screenshots or video clips. It’s not massive compared to 1TB cards, but still enough for most gamers to store their essentials without deleting the older ones – decent for day-to-day use. Performance is just as impressive. You won’t really notice you’re playing from a card rather than the console’s internal memory.
Installing and getting started is easy – just pop it in, and you’re good to go. No complicated setup procedures or formatting issues to worry about. This 512GB is a sweet spot for most Switch users, but if you want less or more space, SanDisk offers other Pokemon-themed options too, ranging all the way up to 1TB. We’re not sure if those will see a significant drop during the Prime Day sale, though.
And while it’s not made for Switch 2, it’s great for users looking to stick with their current consoles. It’s also worth noting that Switch 2 sits at $450 at Nintendo right now, and chances are we won’t see big discounts on it anytime soon. However, many retailers are offering discounts on the original Switch lineup, so it’s also a good time to invest in one if you’ve been planning to.
