Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
Even someone like me who’s usually soured by superhero experiences (especially ones where you’re buddies with cops) can’t help but love Insomniac’s rollicking, free-roaming treatment of Spider-Man. And it’s a joy to play on Steam Deck.
Spider-Man translates surprisingly well to a small screen. The generously detailed recreation of Manhattan is vivid and immersive on the Deck. I personally would like to see the HUD elements a touch larger, but the overall experience of playing this game on the go remains a net positive.
The game will run at a reliable 30 to 40 frames per second.. Consider changing two settings to to better adapt the HUD to the small screen. In “Accessibility Settings,” turn on “HUD Background.” I find this is a nice way to make up for the smaller HUD elements having been intended for a larger screen. You can also bump up the icon and prompt size in the same menu.
