Stripping the familiar 8-bit sound effects from Super Mario Bros. and replacing them with realistic ānextgen AAA soundsā makes for an unsettling, but awesome, audiovisual experience. Youāve never heard coins collected with this level of fidelity. Promise.
This audio remix is the work of composer and sound designer Jake Kaufman, a video game music pro whose work includes Red Faction Guerrilla, Batman: The Brave and the Bold and Contra 4. Hell, he even has Game Boy Advance title Karnaaj Rallyāa game mostly famous for having some of the worst box art everāon his resume.
Kaufman writes on his YouTube page that more HD sound effect remixes are coming, with Pac-Man and Tetris planned. Canāt wait!
