Yes, it’s on the top of the App Store charts but Flappy Bird
is hella annoying. The hit mobile game is hard, derivative and devoid of almost
all charm. If you’ve played it, you’ve probably wished you could kill the
titular character. A new browser game lets you do exactly that.
Squishy Bird automatically sends wave after wave of sad-looking
flying animals across a screen that looks a lot like that of Flappy Bird. But
once that lurching avian gets between two of those really familiar looking
pipes, one mouse click pulverizes it (them, if you do more than one) into a bloody, liquefied mess.
Squishy may be a crass, quickie effort meant to ride Flappy‘s own dubious coattails
but it feels better—cathartic, even—to play. Consider a way to detox from the
most popular game in Apple’s mobile ecosystem.
