Talk Amongst Yourselves With Portals

Welcome back to Talk Amongst Yourselves, where, today, I have a curveball for you.

We’ve changed plans. Not in a big way. Not in a way that I think will ruin TAY forever. But we’re changing—no, I’m changing—a teeny thing.

You can still talk here all you want. You can still talk about video games in all the graceful, clever ways you can and should.

But if you noticed a couple of days ago that we said we picked a picture of our own Brian Crecente as the TAYpic image for September, well… forget about that. Crecente may be a handsome man, but he is not classic art. He is not a single public-domain painting that our creative readers can use for a canvas for an entire month. He’s just not TAYpic material, in my book. So maybe we’ll someday use that Crecente pic for a Photoshop contest, for the box art for Kotaku Kart Racing and for our first balloon in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, but we’re going to go with actual art for TAY in September. Tomorrow, as is tradition, we’ll end the month with a call for people to submit horizontally-aligned pics to the #TAYpics forum page, complete with the name of the artist and their work. Hell, you can do that a day early if you’d like.
