Featuring brand new tracks by artists like Panic! at the Disco and Coheed and Cambria, Batman: Arkham Cityās music might be the first collectorās edition soundtrack Iāve bothered downloading in years.
Free via a redemption code packaged with the collectorās edition of Batman: Arkham City and available for standalone purchase on October 4, the gameās original soundtrack makes every other gameās original soundtrack sound like it was performed on kazoo, which Iād probably dig. Itās got 11 original tracks from Panic! at the Disco, The Raveonettes, Daughtry, Coheed and Cambria, and several I donāt recognize at all.
They arenāt phoning the songs in either. Coheed and Cambria front-man Claudio Sanchez said, āI write in a very conceptual format with the stories that surround Coheed and Cambria, but Batman has a much larger, defined history and rules that go along with it. My goal was to find universal themes from Batmanās existing history to help give the lyrics legs and dimension so that the song could live within that world.ā
Iām not sure what that means, but I like songs, and I like legs.
Check out the full track listing below:

2. Coheed and Cambria ā Deranged
3. The Duke Spirit ā Creature
4. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club ā Shadow On The Run
5. Blaqk Audio ā Afterdark
6. The Raveonettes ā Oh, Stranger
7. ā ā ā (Crosses) ā The Years

It reads like the soundtrack to an indie film, not a video game. I can easily see this making its way to my iPod in the near future, even if Daughtry made the cut.
