The Baron and the Exec Winners

An intense stare-down at the Video Game Awards last weekend provided the grist for our latest ‘Shop Contest. We have laxbenderman’s face-melting winner, plus 19 other worthy contributions, inside!

Getting us started, lets remember what we’re here for: YouTube video guy “The Black Baron” ripped the awards with a video polemic, and was then seated with Spike TV’s Neil Shermans in a kind of conciliatory gesture that invoked the irony of Tosh.0’s web redemption. It didn’t go so well, or so hilariously. So we asked all of you to come in and make it actually hilarious.

Getting started iconoclast25 (8) goes way, way, way the hell back in time for a callback, and makes the finalist roundup. pan1da7 (15), veteran of the #TAYpics shops, gives us the Spike exec as Ezio, also good for a laugh. ZeroBX (20) lets us all know what Danny Bilson would have done if THQ had paid for the table.

Dondjaa (3) imagines a peace summit that was probably a bit more likely; moredreadd (13) enters the lair of the Shadow Broker. sievewright (18) could have done without the image macro but came up with what was on everyone’s mind anyway.

Overall winners? I’ll go with KonohamaruHeaven (10) as a fantastic first-time finalist and probably this year’s rookie of the year. DrZaius (5) also had a great take on Snoopy vs. the Black Baron. Bur for my money, I like laxbenderman (11). It’s the uncomfortable, polite grins of the dinner party that makes it hilarious to me.
