Hong Kong toy company Hot Toys recently held an āitashaā competition to see who could cover its Batmobile/Tumbler model in nerd cool the best in hopes of winning Batman figurines.
In Japanese, the slang āitashaā (ēč») literally means āpainmobileā. These sticker-covered cars have become a way for Japanese geeks to show their nerd pride while cruising down the street.
Here are three of the top entries, with the American flag Batmobile taking the Gran Prix and winning all of Hot Toysā Dark Knight Rises merch. Thatās three years worth of loot.
While it didnāt come in first place, I quite like this Gotham Police Department Batmobile.
